Urgent Appointment

Urgent appointments will always be seen the same day but not necessarily with your usual doctor. If you require an urgent appointment you will be booked in for a telephone consultation with our nursing team. If they determine you need to see a clinician this will be arranged for you.

  • phone us on 01604 713823, Monday to Friday from 8am

Routine Appointment

To request a routine appointment in the next 7 days:

  • Patients need to ring the surgery if they require an appointment or to cancel or adjust. We will respond within 4 hours during opening times
  • phone us on 01604 713823, Monday to Friday from 8am to 6:30pm
  • visit the surgery and speak with a receptionist, Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm
  • use your NHS account (through the NHS website or NHS App) to book a screening test or vaccination

When you get in touch, we’ll ask what you need help with.

We will use the information you give us to choose the most suitable doctor, nurse or health professional to help you.

Online Appointments

We are pleased to announce the launch of a new local Online consultation service, OLEA – OnLine Enhanced Access
OLEA will be managed in-house by the Northampton GP Enhanced Access Service, which you may have accessed in the past. You can make bookings via your GP practice reception team.

This service will replace LIVI, which will no longer be available as a free service. Instead, OLEA will be managed by your trusted local GPs, who are familiar with local healthcare pathways, prescribing guidelines, and referrals. This change will allow us to be more efficient when dealing with your needs and greater control over appointment availability.

How will this benefit you?

  • Additional video or telephone consultations
  • Available healthcare when you need it.
  • Greater visibility of available appointments, allowing us to plan and allocate them to better suit your needs.
  • GPs with local knowledge of healthcare pathways, referrals, and prescribing guidelines, working to support you.

The OLEA service is set to launch in May 2025, and we will keep you informed with updates leading up to this date. Once the service has launched, we welcome your feedback and encourage you to share your suggestions with us, so we can continue to improve this service and better meet the needs of the population in Northampton.

Thank you for your continued trust and support.

Home visits

Home visits are at the discretion of the doctor. Please do not ask the doctor to call unless the patient is too ill to attend the surgery. Please try to request a home visit before 10.30am on that day. The receptionist will ask for full details, a telephone number and the reason for the visit. This information enables the doctors to plan their calls and allows urgent visitors to be dealt with as soon as possible.

Lack of transportation is not a reason for a doctor to make a home visit.

Enhanced Access

Appointments between 6.30pm to 9.30pm on weekdays and 9am to 5pm on weekends and Bank Holidays can be made with the Northampton GP Enhanced Access Service. This service is based at Highfield House, next to Northampton General Hospital.

To book an appointment, please contact the practice on 01604 713823 during our opening hours (Monday - Friday, 8am to 6.30pm). Please note that although you will be seen by an experienced local GP or nurse, it is unlikely to be your own.

Your appointment

However you choose to contact us, we may offer you a consultation:

  • by phone
  • face to face at the surgery
  • on a video call
  • by text or email

Appointments by phone, video call or by text or email can be more flexible and often means you get help sooner.

Cancelling or changing an appointment

Please do everything possible to meet an appointment. Missed appointments prevent us from seeing other patients and drain the NHS' resources. However, if it is imperative that you cancel an appointment, please tell us as soon as possible.

To cancel your appointment:

  • use your NHS account (through the NHS website or NHS App)
  • phone us on 01604 713823, Monday to Friday from 8am
  • reply CANCEL to your appointment reminder text message
